Within PayPal, PayPal emails and in PayPal account the order no. is always "0". Inside the shop and in shop emails it is numered correctly. So apparently the order number from shop is not transferred to PayPal at all.

Additionally PayPal payments do not show up within eFire, seems they are not transmitted to eFire.

Payments work anyway.

The change for issue 0004217 was the reason for this current issue, so it was rolled-back, because it didn't helped in current situation (see comments in this bug entry). So the issue 0004279 is gone also.
