Summary | 0002804: "Wish List" vs. "Gift Registry"
Description | In Amazon speach, the "Wish List" is a public list that can be viewed by and sent to others. The "Gift Registry" also exists, but to be honest, I first heard of it today (when i searched). In Oxid, the wish list is a private list of articles. It cant be sent to or views by others, and it cant be "converted" into a public wish list. In Oxid, the gift registry is, what is normally called wish list: a public list of articles that can be sent to and viewed by others. By the fact, that most customers know the wishlist from amazon, you have to expect many customers to misinterpretate the function "add to wishlist" and quit the shop frustrated, as soon as they realize, that the wish list is private. In german its all right: "wishlist" is "Merkzettel", "gift registry" is "Wunschliste". Just as it is at amazon.

Yes, this is quite annoying thing in OXID eShop and even we sometimes are confused by this. Just the fix for this is not so easy, because it would mean also changes of function names, what may lead to changing API. So we will try to cleanup this part in one of bigest upcomming versions (where such changes are more-less tolerated). |

umm... Can someone explain why it is not possible to just change the labels / language-keys? |
