| Description | alternative template for just the category does work fine, same for product but when i try to use a custom template for a category, the product details template is not loaded but alternative category template is used for product.. no errors shown | ||||

sorry, my fault. this only happens if details view is changed from extends oxUBase to extends aList |

If it's still the issue - please give us more details about the case, like do you use custom theme, is it separate theme or have Parent theme, what you extend,how you are using these alternative templates (what exactly you mean by "1.) specify custom alternative template for a category")?
